Ruby with violet edges, this classic Beaujolais Cru from Clos de la Roilette is 100 % Gamay showing both energy and depth. The nose offers vibrant red and dark berry aromas raspberry, red currant and blackberry lifted by violet florals, hints of spice and just a touch of smoky earth from its clay/manganese soils. The palate is medium-to-full with juicy red fruit, bright acidity and fine tannins giving structure without heaviness. The finish is long and refreshing with spice and subtle floral mineral notes. Pairs well with mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, and roasted duck breast.
