On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied, combining ripe dark fruit with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Nuances of licorice, olive tapenade and earthy minerality unfold through the long, savoury finish. An excellent match for grilled lamb, duck breast, beef daube or mushroom dishes, whose rich, earthy flavours complement the wine's spice and elegance.
