A rich and elegantly matured southern French red, the 2017 Domaine de Baronarques “La Capitelle de Baronarques” opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum layered with notes of cedar, tobacco and sweet spice. On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied, combining ripe dark fruit with polished tannins and fresh acidity that brings balance and finesse. Nuances of cocoa, licorice and savory earth unfold through the long, refined finish. Pairs well with roast lamb, duck confit, braised beef and aged hard cheeses.
