A rich and beautifully balanced Burgenland red blend, the 2022 Familie Gesellmann Opus Eximium opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum layered with notes of violet, spice and cedar. On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied, combining ripe dark fruit with silky tannins and fresh acidity that provides structure and elegance. Nuances of cocoa, black pepper and subtle earth carry through the long, polished finish. Pairs well with roast lamb, grilled steak, venison and aged hard cheeses.
