A vivid and Rhône-inspired California Syrah, the 2022 Pax North Coast Syrah opens with aromas of blackberry, plum and violet layered with cracked pepper, smoked meat and earthy spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied and energetic, combining dark fruit with lively acidity and fine, savory tannins. Notes of black olive, licorice and mineral earth carry through the long, peppery finish, reflecting whole-cluster fermentation and a restrained, cool-climate style. Pairs well with grilled lamb, barbecue, sausages and slow-cooked meats.
